Tennessee Lane Filtering Law
The Tennessee state legislature introduced HB 1454 and SB 0298 in the General Assembly. These two bills would allow lane filtering in the state of Tennessee if certain circumstances were in effect. If traffic is traveling at 25 mph or less, then Lane Splitting woud be legal.
“As introduced, authorizes two-wheeled motorcycles to be operated between rows of stopped or moving vehicles in the same lane on certain limited access highways and interstate highways when the speed of traffic is 25 miles per hour or less.”
The Tennessee Senate version (SB 0298) was on the Transportation and Safety Subcommittee calendar for discussion on March 8, 2023. There hasn't been any movement from the house on HB 1454. As of this post publish date, lane filtering is not legal in Tennessee.
